With so many different characters and therw special powers. This is a story about 5 friends who end up knowing some of the knowledge which was forbidden to them. With that they end up being the victims of there society. Well its a very nice novel but the only thing I don't like is that first they show that the group has 3 boys and 2 girls bit they end three of them as baits. They all were suppose to be the main characters but only 2 of them get the liberty. That was so unfair.

They all were suppose to be the main characters but only 2 of them get the liberty. That was so unfair. The first boy who was the best of all was killed because they wanted to support a prove that humans turn into monsters and should be executed before they nurture. Other 2 peaple died a very unknown death. God japanese should be banned from writing such good novels.

This book is overlong, boring and repetitive, and with a very poor character creation and storyline conception.

It is just plain bad. The story starts okish enough.

Little children go to school and they seem to have mental powers, psychokinetic powers and so on; all seems pretty shady, and old people seem to keep some things by themselves What has happened to the world?

Why are there so many random creatures, and why can't the children leave the protective zone?

It is not particularly original, as you see, but with some elements proper of Japanese culture, for someone not close to it, it may offer some fresh ideas. And with all the tranquility and peacefulness of this world, the plot twist comes when you realize that the world is not as innocent as you thought.

I really love utopia-turn-dystopia books and this story delivers it good. The truth was chilling and horrifying.

The plot is amazing. Sure, there were some boring long parts, but generally, it was full of excitement and mystery.

The whole novel consists of three parts, combining the childhood, teen years and adulthood of the characters. The idea of "cantus" psychokinetic powers , minoshiro and other genetically engineered animals, death feedback attack inhibition was used so cleverly that you wouldn't even question it.

There were plot twists at each parts and heart-breaking events. The book was incredibly depressing The characters were great, especially the main ones.

I really loved Satoru, Shun, Saki and Maria. Their friendship, love and support were too strong, although sad things kept happening.
